People are always asking about Buy Idaho members. Are they an entirely Idaho business, or do they have parent companies located outside of the state. To become a member of Buy Idaho, a company must essentially employ Idahoans and pay property and payroll taxes. If a company chooses to outsource human resource services, such as payroll...enter Buy Idaho member Ataraxis. What is Ataraxis? Well, first, the defenition is 'the absence of mental stress or anxiety'.

“Ataraxis CEO and president are both Idaho natives!  Steven Cilley, CEO and Dylan Pedersen, President, have been friends for over 3 decades and reign from the Magic Valley!  After having issues of not being able to provide the quality fortune 500 benefits for their already existing employees of other companies they owned, they created Ataraxis a Professional Employer Organization or PEO.  With the help of an expert consultant, they designed a PEO that meet the Human Resource needs of companies without those businesses having to change the way they operate! At Ataraxis, we enable GREAT work!”

Buy Idaho is proud to partner with Ataraxis to promote the Buy idaho message; To Keep Idaho's Economy Strong - Buy Idaho Products and Services. For more information, please go to

Buy Idaho member Zeppole Baking Co. is expanding! Kind of like the yeast used in bread; when all the ingredients work together in tandem, bread rises and expands and is baked to perfection for all of us to enjoy. Zeppole is taking advantage of mixing 'business ingredients' together to form the recipe of success.

Zeppole has been in the bread business for 17 years and during that time added pastries, sandwiches and soup. They partnered with Buy Idaho member Reed's Dairy to serve ice cream made from Idaho cows. Buy Idaho members Sysco and Food Service of America deliver their breads all over the state and into eastern Oregon. Many coffee shops around the Boise area serve Zeppole pastries. And now you can purchase them in Nampa.

Buy Idaho is proud to partner with Zeppole Baking Co. to deliver the message: To keep Idaho's Economy strong and healthy; Buy Idaho Products and Services. For more information on Zeppole, go to their website

First impressions are so important; they can either keep a customer in your business or turn them away after a few moments. Impressions are based on the five senses and a key component is 'smell'. Aire-Master of Gem State, LLC knows this and markets products and services to eliminate odors caused by built up spills, stains, chemical residues, and grease left to accumulate over time.

Not only does Aire-Master sell odor control solutions, but have added a floor cleaning service to meet your business needs .Is mopping enough? Daily mopping can cross contaminate your floors and trap odors in their grout. Soiled floors can also be a safety risk contributing to falls requiring claims for worker's compensation. Contact Patty Thies, Owner, Aire-Master of Gem State, at for more information.

Trevor Schaefer's story is one of survival. As a young teen, he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Discovering he was one of several in his hometown of McCall, Idaho, Trevor and his mother Charlie Smith, began the long trek to identify  a chemical-related cancer cluster.

Trevor founded the Trevor's Trek Foundation for cancer victims with the goal to educate others about toxic environments and its effect on communities. Trevor testified before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee in Washington DC this past week. One voice speaking on behalf of cancer victims whose diagnoses are related to toxic environments.

Buy Idaho is proud to partner with Trevor's Trek Foundation to help educate others regarding cancer found in concentrated areas in specific time periods. It is said that one of the reasons Idaho cannot keep our young people home, is because of limited transportation opportunities.

Valley Regional Transit is prepared to move ahead with building an 11.9 million transit hub in downtown Boise. This includes a multi-modal hub of 12 busses, a taxi center, parking garage, bicycle racks, restrooms, retail and office space. The City of Boise and Capital City Building Development will contribute approximately 2.4 million matching funds with federal funding supplying 9.5 million. If all things stay on schedule, building will begin the fall of 2012.

Will this meet the transit needs for our young people who rely on other modes of transportation besides owning their own vehicle? Under VRT's Executive Director Kelli Fairless and Project Manager Rhonda Jalbert's leadership, it is a start in the right direction. Buy Idaho is proud to partner with Valley Regional Transit in promoting the Buy Idaho message: To Keep Idaho's Economy Strong...Buy Idaho Products and Services. Idaho has some of the fascinating Idaho company stories around. Did you you know that your favorite tea, Bigelow Tea is packaged in Boise, Idaho?

The Bigelow Tea Company was founded over 60 years ago. It is still a family owned operation that expanded their love of tea to include three plant operations, with one located here in Idaho. Plant Manager Tony Greer gave Barbara and me a tour of his operation located in Boise. They employ approximately 60 people and package over 100 tea varieties, shipping to customers all over the world. Their "on the Web" gift store carries over ninety gift items for the tea lover.

The Bigelow Tea Company has been a Buy Idaho member for 22 years and Buy Idaho is proud to partner with them to promote the Buy Idaho message: To keep Idaho's Economy Strong...Buy Idaho Products and Services. To visit Bigelow Tea's website go to
