    Become a Leader People Will Follow


    Grow as a leader - discover the leadership attitudes and learn and apply the skills that increase employee performance and productivity, improve employee performance, and create a culture where people thrive.

    The Leadership Development Program, which consists of four parts, develops great leaders for any organization.

    This learning experience is led by the Center's instructional team consisting of proven leaders from a variety of fields who have a passion for developing others. Leaders will participate in fast-paced, hands-on learning experiences culminating in practical, on-the-job application.

    Here's what you will learn:

    The characteristics and skills of a trustworthy leader

    The principles and practices that develop people to be the best they can be at what they do

    The necessary abilities for creating and maintaining quality work processes

    The principles for creating a work culture that will outlive the leader's presence

    Main topics include:

    Managing Self

    Leadership is not something you do - it's something you are.

    There is a direct correlation between one's ability to self-manage and their effectiveness as a leader. In this course you will examine the five core values of self-management; managing authority with humility, communicating effectively, managing time with purpose, displaying and maintaining emotional health, and personal versatility. The course process will include a discussion on what it means to lead, a discovery of the behaviors effective leaders exemplify, an opportunity for self-reflection and evaluation, and the challenge to create a plan for developing the leader within.

    Leading Others

    The job of a leader is to help people become the best that they can be at what they do.

    People respond to leadership when their purpose is made clear, their talents are used, their efforts are recognized, their accomplishments are rewarded, and their leader cares. In this course, you will examine the essentials of Leading Others; creating a climate of trust where people thrive, discovering and developing the skills and talents of individuals, building team cohesiveness and productivity, and helping the team fulfill their purpose in the organization.

    Managing Processes

    If a person can't describe what they do as a process... they don't know what they are doing.

    As a leader, you can quickly increase your team's effectiveness and overall efficiency, by using proven process tools. In this course you will have the opportunity to learn and practice process improvement in the following areas; customer care, project management, decision-making, problem-solving, and delegation.

    Leading for Legacy

    Egocentric leaders leave a mess. Charismatic leaders leave a hole. But effective leaders leave a legacy.

    The measure of effective leadership is based on the lasting effects long after they are gone. As a leader grows, he or she begins to experience a shift in scope. They begin to think about the long-term results of their leadership - will they leave things better than they found them? In this course you will discover the five areas of Leading for Legacy; thinking and planning strategically, building alliances and relationships that produce win-win results, making ethical decisions that uphold and strengthen the core values of the organization, creating open and honest lines of communication with the people they report to, and initiating and driving meaningful changes.

    Who Should Attend

    Leaders with direct supervisory and management responsibilities who are seeking to develop character-based leadership skills that will help people become the best that they can be at what they do.
