Wednesday, February 16th, was a magical day for everyone at the State Capitol Building in Boise. 112 Buy Idaho members showcased their products and services for all to see, taste, and touch. The sounds of talking and laughter resonated throughout the rotunda. The beautiful marble reflected rainbow shades of color and light.

When 3 year old Hailey, along with her mom Layla and brother Alex, approached the Capitol, she whispered out loud "Is this a castle''? As Hailey entered the building, she looked around and saw the festivities and knew, just knew, this was a real live castle. The grand staircase gently weaved itself around and around, going higher and higher. What's at the top, Hailey wondered, as she tipped her head back further and gazed in awe at the sky. So she climbed the stairs to the second floor, then climbed the stairs to the third floor, and so very weary, she climbed the stairs to the fourth and final floor. All along the way Hailey and her mom and brother sampled food, played with a marshmallow toy, and watched a train set. "Yes", "this is a castle" she proclaimed to her mom. "But where is Sleeping Beauty"?

When Hailey saw me and we said our hellos, she asked me where Sleeping Beauty was and where was her bedroom? I replied, "Way,way at the top and if we haven't seen her up and about, she is still sleeping". Hailey was very disappointed of course because she didn't get to see Sleeping Beauty.  Once again, through the eyes of a child, we learn to look at things a little differently and I will always remember Hailey's proclamation that the Capitol Building is a Castle. Yet the question remains unanswered; Where is Sleeping Beauty?

We make our candles the old fashioned way; hand-poured, one at a time. The soy wax we use is a high performing product that burns clean and completely down - no wasted or unused wax inside the jar.

    Our Mission

Our mission at Idaho Glow is to offer the highest quality, hand poured, soy wax candles designed for the health discerning consumer interested in a toxin free environment.  We believe in providing our clientele with an environmentally friendly and radiant glow to warm their home, delight their senses and help preserve our planet for generations to come.

    Why Soy

    • Less Soot: Soy candles are all-natural and burn much cleaner. Increased indoor air quality over normal paraffin based candles.
    • Longer Burning: Soy candles burn 10-20% longer than paraffin candles.
    • Environmentally Friendly: Soy candles are made from soybeans which are a renewable resource.  NOT derived from oil refining, like paraffin.
    • Support American Farmers: Soy candles help support American farmers by using soybeans - a renewable and sustainable resource.
    • Accurate Scent Throw:  The clean burning qualities of soy wax allows for a more accurate scent through put. What you smell when you open the jar is what you smell while burning.
    • Easy Clean Up: Soy wax can be cleaned up using soap and water.
    • Improved Air Quality: Paraffin wax has been the standard for the candle industry for over 100 years.  Recently, heath and environmental hazards have been discovered because paraffin wax candles emit 11 toxins, two of which are known carcinogens (toluene and benzene).  Soy candles do not contain toxins or carcinogens and therefore improve air quality and a healthier alternative to paraffin wax.

The Deer Horn Ranch is a horse training facility, located at 24900 Market Road in Parma Idaho.  Just a short 45 minute drive west of Boise, Idaho.

At the Deer Horn Ranch our main focus is on training cutting and reined cow horses.  The ranch is operated by owner David Glaser with the capable, talented help of assistant trainer Summer Housley.

We have a full care training and showing facility, with our specialty being in the Novice, Amateur, and Non-Pro riders. We offer lessons for both the horse and the rider.  Also at the ranch we have Idaho bred and raised horses for sale.

"The thing that makes the Deerhorn Ranch stand out over and above any other equine training facility in the Treasure Valley is their attention to you and your horse in every way.  They specialize in not only training your horse but training you also so that the two of you can be the best possible.

After spending many months searching for a trainer and operation I felt fit my needs, I found the Deer Horn ranch. I have been associated with Dave and crew for more than eight years and have had a great experience with them.

They have guided me with breeding, training my horses and training me which is no small undertaking.

I feel fortunate to have been associated with Dave, Tammy and Summer and gained their insights to the worlds of cutting and reined cow horse. I look forward to showing this season with yet another horse they have trained so well for me. I hope to show this mare to her potential.

I wish every horse owner the great experience and personal support I have gotten from this relationship.

      Thank you, Deer Horn.

      Sincerely, Dennis Potter

It doesn't matter if you have been riding your entire life or are a beginner, they make you feel welcome.  Dave and Summer compliment each other very well and I love being one of their clients."
