Idaho Turns 154 Years Old Today

Secretary of State Lawerence Denney Celebrates Event at Idaho State Capitol

Boise, ID – Idahoans across the state celebrated Idaho Day, recognizing Abraham Lincoln signing the act that made Idaho a territory. Secretary of State Lawrence Denney read a proclamation announcing the event to a crowd of over 150 at the Idaho State Capitol, followed by performances from local school children.

Former Legislator and Idaho Day Founder Linden Bateman said, “We love Idaho. Her name conjures images of wide open spaces, lovely winding rivers, and mountain skies fading into sunsets. Romance lies in her name. Freedom lies in her name.”

In addition to the proclamation and school performances, Wade Vagias, Superintendent of the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve delivered a keynote address on the importance of partnerships between national and state parks to enhance the visitor experience. Students from the Boise School District also had their Idaho Day themed work on display in the Capitol Rotunda. “The Idaho Day celebrations have been an opportunity for all students in the Boise School District to honor Idaho’s heritage, and the district will continue to celebrate this special day in our schools,” said Chris Taylor, Social Studies and Science Supervisor for the Boise School District.

Idaho Day was celebrated by numerous state agencies in several locations across the state to provide all Idahoans an opportunity to come together to celebrate our past. All Idahoans have a chance to share their “beautiful Idaho” with hashtags #myidaho, #beautifulidaho, and #idablue. For more information, contact Michelle Wallace at (208) 891-7617.

Teton Range IPA

VICTOR, ID – Grand Teton Brewing Company, known throughout the West for their exceptional craft brews, is proud to announce the release of their year-round IPA, Teton Range.

After 18 months, 18 pilot batches and dozens of side projects with their pilot system, Teton Range IPAhas been added to Grand Teton Brewing’s year-round lineup.

For Teton Range IPA, Idaho grown and malted barley make up 90% of the grain bill. The brewers use a variety of Idaho hops including one of their new favorites, Idaho 7. The combination of these unique hops makes Teton Range IPA an amazingly aromatic and flavorful beer. The brewers focus on late hop additions in the kettle to boost the aroma and keep the bitterness low. The flavor is juicy, like fresh squeezed tropical fruit with some pine in the background. The beer has a deep gold color and strong head retention. The crisp, balanced flavors of Teton Range IPA create a delicious, drinkable beer.

Alcohol by Volume:  6.5% • International Bitterness Units: 62
